Our Director of Content rockin out in style on the streets
midwestchic:

Spotted on the streets of Ann Arbor in between classes, I stopped Natalie to comment on what caught my eye: her canary yellow coat.  Typically, I would stray from yellow during the winter time due to the fact that yellow has the ability to wash out people’s skin tones making them look bland, but I’ve been proven wrong.  This vibrant tailored Michael Kors jacket fits Natalie well, hitting right above her knee and synching appropriately at her waist.  Everyone needs a great fitting jacket—plus, this style has a hood and pockets that provides functionality as well as being fashionable!  Try pairing this canary yellow with cobalt blue, bright marigold, or a warm grey to bring out its fullest potential.
Natalie is also wearing shoes by Matisse and Salt Work jeans.

There’s a new remix in town…

Skrillex came up with a song for Syndicate (the video game) and now it’s been lovingly remixed by Digitalism.  I quote them in their experience of making this song:

“Syndicate is a game classic which is now being brought back to life. For us as electronic music lovers who grew up with games and love soundtracks, there was no way around re-interpreting the Syndicate theme! So what we did in our WWII bunker studio was imagine being in the game, creating a fast-paced atmosphere, turning all the compressors up and mixing classic soundtrack elements with techno. We wanted to make sure it sounds dangerous - et voila, here we go.”

I enjoy listening to Skrillex’s original but Digitalism has a place in my heart after discovering them a year ago on hypem with their track Blitz.  Their remix for syndicate even seems more video game appropriate so check it out on Syndicate’s facebook page and then clicking on the side bar to Syndicate DJ Download to get both the Skrillex and Digitalism version.  Do it to it.

Get yourself to Cosmic Gate

If you are in the ann arbor area, get thee to Cosmic Gate with Nic Chagall and DJ Bossi touring their new Wake Your Mind album which let me just tell you - is phenomenal.  I’ve heard the album preview, and if you are a follower of trance as much as I am, get yourself there.  Click on the link above and buy tickets now!

Brand new video from the dude Gliffics - bringin some solid knowledge over a tight gritty beat.  Gliffics brings a refreshing angle to his performances and has been popping up all over Manhattan and Brooklyn lately.  Check him out at one of the CMJ Showcases:

A capella mix of Skrillex’s Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites….I wouldn’t rage to it but it is a showcase of some great talent.
